The Dominion was a major galactic political power, whose influence was exerted over thousands of planets in the Gamma Quadrant. The Dominion have remained for the most part quiet. Their appearances in the Gamma Quadrant, as well the Alpha Quadrant have been peaceful. Several new trade routes were opened between the Federation, as well as the Klingons, and Romulans.
